Gay
So what if aliens didn’t know what being gay was/it doesn’t exist in their species for whatever reason (maybe they don’t have multiple genders/sexes or they’re eusocial and only the “queen” mates and the others don’t have that sort of drive idk) and they are baffled by the concept. They probably don’t mean any disrespect but they’d probably ask the same questions as homophones do the only difference being they’re genuinely curious and not low-key (lets be honest more high-key) trying to convince you that you shouldn’t be gay.
Zorlack:”Human-Steve, I’ve noticed that you and Human-James have pack bonded closer than the other crew members; may I ask why?”
Steve:”Well…it’s because me and Steve are, you know, in a relationship”
Zorlack:”I don’t understand”
Steve:”we’re dating, zorlack”
Zorlack:”but I thought those sorts of mating rituals were reserved for humans of the opposite gender?”
Steve:”most of the time it is but there are people, like me and James, who prefer the same gender instead”
Zorlack:”but what of reproducing? Isn’t that the sole reason for mating?”
Steve:”not in humans it isn’t”
Zorlack:*walking off*”I should update the human guide”
